Ex-Real Madrid player Diego Caballo uploaded a photo of himself to Twitter training in a top of his former team, which upset a number of Valencia fans on social media.

Valencia Mestalla player Diego Caballo caused a stir on social media on Friday evening after uploading a photo of himself training in a Real Madrid top, prompting the left winger to later issue an apology to offended fans.

“If anyone has been offended because in my spare time, I wore a t-shirt from my footballing past to do exercise in order to maintain my form and performance, then I ask forgiveness,” he posted on Twitter.

The 22-year old was at Real Madrid’s youth set-up between 2011 and 2015 before signing for Valencia, where he currently plays for club’s reserve side, Mestalla.
