Steven N'Zonzi has signed a contract extension with Sevilla that will see him remain at the club until June 30th 2020. His previous deal was set to expire in the summer and the Andalusion club have acted fast in an effort to fend off the likes of Barcelona and Arsenal, who have reportedly been paying close attention to the 28-year-old.
The former Stoke City and Blackburn Rovers midfielder has been key to Jorge Sampaoli's surge to the summit of Spanish football with the Argentinian declaring his Sevilla side were very much competing for the title. After one particularly impressive game by N'Zonzi, his coach was moved to refer to his as an "octopus" given the scope of his influence around the middle.
