Ronaldinho would choose Messi, Eto'o and himself over the MSN
The Brazilian ex-Barça star considered the merits of the two tridents and also made clear that he hopes, and believes, that compatriot Neymar will become the best in the world.
Barça tridents compared
FC Barcelona have had some very special front threes in recent years, each with their own style, way of linking with the rest of the team, and individual specialities. From the formation of Ronaldinho, Eto'o and Messi, under the management of Frank Rikjaard, to the current trio including the Argentinian number ten with Luis Suárez and Neymar.
One of those involved in that early Messi trident, Brazilian star Ronaldinho, has considered the merits of both his on-field attacking relationship when at the Camp Nou and that of those that will be lining up against Atlético Madrid in the Copa del Rey, the MSN. He prefers the one he was part of:
"Both tridents have made history with Barça," he said speaking to ESPN Brazil, "but I'd pick the one formed by Eto'o, Messi and myself." He was speaking after PSG paid tribute to him last weekend for his contributions to the club, his first in Europe.
Brazil's best to soon be the world's best
Still, he had words of praise for his compatriot Neymar: "I think he is already on the cusp of the best players in the world and he will become the best one day. He's our best player and all us Brazilians want him to be the best," explained a smiling Ronaldinho.
