Camp Nou prepares hankie protest against 'biased' referees
It has been announced by the organised singing section of FC Barcelona's stadium that there will be a protest aimed at officials taking place on the 12th minute of the Athletic game.
12th minute protest
The Grada de Animación has published a communication on Friday announcing that fans should make a statement against officials during Saturday's Liga clash with Athletic Bilbao. The section of the Camp Nou that was created by fan groups to develop a much better atmosphere in the stadium have asked that all fans bring their hankerchiefs.
In the publication they have advised that all fans should become one protest wall of hankies which will be waved on the 12th minute of the game. The show of solidarity is to be a demonstration of how they feel they have been unfairly treated by referees in recent matches.
Liga complicit with refereeing unfairness
They have stated that this protest is "essential" for "prejudicial officiating" that Barça have suffered. In addition they have stated in their communication that referees have tried to "diminish the efforts of the team while enhancing the chances of success for their rivals".
The group went on to say on a Facebook post that "it is such a clear and constant trend over time that there is no doubt about an unfair advantage against which all members and fans must fight". Being even more specific about their grievance the post mentioned that the Spanish football league authorities were complicit in the actions, refering to the president as a "Madridista".
