SUPER BOWL LI
Atlanta Falcons Alex Mack will play despite broken leg
The 31-year-old centre will "get a shot" and does expect pain but will play and does not expect to be limited in Super Bowl LI against the New England Patriots.
The Atlanta Falcons' centre, Alex Mack, sustained a fractured fibula recently but will play against the New England Patriots on Sunday night and does not expect limitations.
Mack, a 31-year-old, four-time Pro-Bowler, will have the injury assessed after the game to see whether he needs surgery or not. He suffered a similar injury in 2014 and missed 11 games but given the importance of the position and the reliance on him to ensure Ryan's protection is top notch on Sunday, Mack is ready to go.
Mack expects pain, will play
"Nothing has changed regarding Alex Mack's status. He will play and does not expect any limitations. He has a slight fracture in his fibula which is why he was listed a fibula. It is painful, he'll get a shot but he will play," Ian Rappaport said.
