In Uruguay, Rádio1010 are reporting that FC Barcelona are closely monitoring the progress of Nicolás De la Cruz, and are considering signing the teenager from Montevideo-based, Liverpool FC. De La Cruz is an attacking midfeidler and is international at Under-20 level for Uruguay. The 19-year-old's rights are owned by the Casal Group who have an excellent relationship with several Spanish top flight clubs.

Curiously, it was fellow Uruguayan Luis Suárez who recommended that Barça's scouting department take a closer look at De la Cruz. The striker has enthused about the teenage midfielder's quality while Barça are looking to strengthen the attacking midfielder position where Luis Enrique has experienced problems this season.
