Ex-Real Madrid Castilla coach Luis Miguel Ramis has directed yet more thinly veiled criticism at the club over a supposed lack of opportunity for youth players in the Los Blancos first team.

"La Fabrica works with opportunities"

Ramis, who left his post at the club in 2016 by mutual consent after failing to take the reserve side to the Segunda playoffs, tweeted his congratulations to Madrid’s academy products at Alavés Marcos Llorente (on loan) and Fernando Pacheco (permanent), as the two helped their side past Celta Vigo in Wednesday’s Copa del Rey semi and into Alavés’ first ever Spanish Cup final (vs Barcelona, May 27).

However, Ramis also left a little message for Real Madrid over the club’s academy, La Fabrica.

“Maximum level, maximum performance, @Marcos_Llorente and @92pacheco respond. Congratulations, #LaFabrica works with opportunities. Hala Madrid!!!”

It’s not the first time that Ramis, the manager who took over from Zidane at Castilla in January 2016 when the Frenchman was promoted to first-team coach, has taken aim at Madrid over this issue.

With Real having faced a number of injuries to players in the senior squad over the past few weeks, especially in midfield and at fullback, Ramis made a clear endorsement for current Castilla youngsters Achraf and Aleix Febad to be given a chance under Zidane.

“Problems on the wing? Achraf. Problems in centre-midfield? Aleix Febas. It makes me mad if I don’t say it. Hala Madrid!!!”
