Luis Suárez's strike rightly ruled out at the Calderón
Match referee Mateu Lahoz disallowed the Uruguayan's goal in the first half for a handball and a foul on Atlético keeper Jan Oblak in the build-up.
Luis Suárez thought he had given Barcelona the lead in the 30th minute in the Calderón but match referee Mateu Lahoz and his assistants were correct to rule out the Uruguayan’s effort.
Leo Messi started the move with a shot on goal that was blocked by Jan Oblak and fell into the path of Suárez. The Uruguayan’s persistence ended with the ball in the back of the net but the Barça striker also committed two infractions in doing so.
Foul and handball
On one hand he managed to stand on the prostrate Oblak and on the other he handled the ball in the passage of play. Mateu Lahoz disallowed the goal, despite the impassioned protests of Suárez.
Rafinha opened the scoring in the second half with a low drive from the edge of the area to make it 0-1 to the visitors and Diego Godín equalised for the hosts moments later with a glancing header from a corner.
