The Serie A club have set their sights on finishing in the top four next season and returning to the Champions League with the Atlético boss in charge Manchester United v. Manchester City live online
Inter Milan are prepared to pull out all the stops to land Atlético Madrid manager Diego Simeone as the Serie A club plots its return to the big time after several years in the wilderness.
Mourinho money to land Simeone
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter are readying an offer for Simeone of 10-11 million euros a year to take over at the San Siro, the same contract that José Mourinho enjoyed while in charge of the club and an amount only previously paid by Inter to the Portuguese manager who led the side to Champions League glory in 2010.
Conte also in the Inter frame
Inter have set the goal of reinstalling themselves among Serie A’s top four and gaining access to the Champions League after a five-year absence from Europe’s elite club competition. To do so, the board have prepared a Plan B in case they cannot persuade Simeone to join: Antonio Conte. The current Chelsea boss has a contract at Stamford Bridge until 2019.
Simeone has said that he intends to coach Inter one day but the Serie A giants may have their work cut out to sign him for the 2017-18 season after the Atlético boss assured his current employers that he would be in the dug-out next season when the side move to their new stadium.
