Griezmann finding consistency: 3rd season hitting 25 goal-mark
Since his arrival from Real Sociedad in 2014, the forward has maintained steady figures in front of goal. Atlético will raise his 100M euro buy-out clauseRoma vs Atlético Madrid live online coverage
Diego Simeone wants Atlético to be more consistent and if one member of his team is delivering that, it's Antoine Griezmann. The French forward has hit 25 goals this season - the third season running he has reached that mark for Atlético. When he signed from Real Sociedad in 2014, few could have imagined the vital role he would go on to play within the side. During those last three years, he has become regarded as one of the best players on the continent. Griezmann's buy-out clause is set at 100 million euros, but Atlético will soon be raising that figure - even though the player is getting tired with having to tell the media that he is happy in the Spanish capital and is not planning on moving anywhere.
Slow start: Griezmann took a while to get into his stride
Griezmann ended 2014-15 on 25 goals but success didn't come instantly for him in his debut season with Atlético. Cholo stucj by him but the forward only started finding his feet in December; he hit a hat trick in the 1-4 win over Athletic Club in Bilbao on the final weekend of action of the year. After that, there was no turning back for Griezmann. He netted a further 22 times, two in the Champions League and one in the Copa del Rey. In 53 appearances he scored 25 and made six assists.
Griezmann improves figures in second season with Atleti
Last season he bettered his numbers for the Rojiblancos, scoring 22 goals in the league, seven in the Champions League and three in the Copa. In total, 54 games (4,380 minutes): 32 goals and seven assists. It enabled to Atlético to remain in the league title race up until the last day and make the Champions League final.
