'Keepers shine in El Clásico

It was a match with so many heroes that it resembled a meeting of the characters from Marvel. In England, we had the impression that this was one of the best Clásicos in recent history.

Keylor and Ter Stegen phenomenal 

Yet with much of the attention focused on Ramos’ red card and Lionel Messi, the exceptional contribution of both goalkeepers has been somewhat overlooked.

Ter Stegen, as much as Keylor Navas, understood what was required in each moment of the game. But beyond that, both ‘keepers made instinctive reaction saves that are only possible when natural talent and hours of training combine.

A cracker of a Clásico

It seems strange to talk of the goalkeepers after a Clásico that was up in the air for so long (and in which five goals were conceded), but it was one of those matches that could have taken a thousand different paths. It was an absolute cracker.
