Madrid's humble suburb has streets named after its two most famous clubs

Between Upper and Lower Carabanchel, one of Madrid's working class districts, Calle del Atlético de Madrid and Calle del Real Madrid cross each other. It is a very humble neighbourhood with buildings of no higher than four storeys dating back more than half a century. The demographic in this part of the city is largely pensioners and immigrants.

We continue our journey across Plaza de Los Navarros, to a tobacconist at No.11, where we are informed, diplomatically, “We don't really like football...”
