Jesé: I always like to score, even more so if it wins Madrid the title
Las Palmas player Jesé, formerly of Real Madrid, is enjoying the style of play on the Canary Islands, and relishes the chance to trip up Barcelona.
Jesé spoke to Sportium ahead of Las Palmas’ clash against Barcelona this weekend. The match presents the former-Real Madrid player with an opportunity to give his old club a helping hand in their quest for the La Liga title.
Jesé fancies tripping up Barcelona
Jesé is relishing the chance to trip up Barça’s title challenge. “I like to score goals in every game,” he said, “but if it will help Madrid win the league, I’m not going to lie…”
The winger, on loan from PSG, maintained that his main objective is simply to “to play well and help the team”.
Las Palmas are well aware of the threat that Barcelona’s attacking trident present. Speaking of the ‘MSN’, Jesé accepted that “the three of them are very good. Like at Madrid, both those that play and those that don’t play are good players. Both teams have fantastic squads.”
Las Palmas like to 'make opposition dizzy'
The 24-year-old is enjoying life on the Canary Islands, where he grew up, but also the style of football at his club: “Since I was a youngster, the philosophy at Las Palmas has always been to play, to control and the ball and the match… to make the opposition dizzy.”
He believes that despite Las Palmas’ slump in form since Quique Setién announced that he will depart at the end of the season, thay can threaten Barça.
“By applying pressure high up the pitch we can make them feel uncomfortable… we’ll be able to inflict damage on them by doing this.”
