Dembelé offers himself to Barcelona one year after turning them down

The French attacker was the number one target ahead of Paco Alcacer and Luciano Vietto and was available for €12 million but that price has now tripled
Barcelona vs Valencia: Copa del Rey semi-final 17/18

Dembelé ha jugado esta temporada en el Dortmund.

Ousmane Dembelé was Barcelona's top target last season ahead of Luciano Vietto and Paco Alcacer with the technical secretary, Robert Fernandez, offering him a lucrative proposal to leave Rennes. The player, however, opted to move to Borussia Dortmund instead citing a lack of playing time as the reason for turning down Barcelona's advances. "I won't be a starter there and I want to play a lot," he said but what he didn't know was that he was their top target.

After one season at Dortmund and with the situation at the club looking less stable - Thomas Tuchel could be on his way out based on disagreements with the technical staff - Dembelé remains an option. The only problem that remains is the price. His valuation has tripled in 12 months. The 19-year-old (20 on May 15th) has insisted that his agent not lose contact with Robert Fernandez and Barcelona though.

Barcelona have continued to compile scouting notes on his throughout the season and have been thrilled with his development. He has 20 assists and nine goals in all competition this season and became a crucial part of an impressive attack crafted by Tuchel.

With the season over, and having rejected Barcelona a year ago, Dembelé feels confident enough to make the switch to Barcelona should they come calling again.

Doubts over Deulofeu

The former Barcelona player is another option. The club are considering him at a price of €12 million but there are doubts over the former azulgrana. The problem is who the new coach is at Barcelona and whether Deulofeu wants to play under the new manager despite Barça's board deciding they would like to have him back at the club. He is currently on loan at AC Milan and will return to Everton at the end of the season.
