Guardiola's philosophical take on Cardiff final

“Atlético de Madrid feel that they are owed a European Cup after so many attempts. Football makes us believe that it owes us something but at the end of the day, football will give you things and take things away…" Guardiola told reporters in his post-match press conference at the Etihad. "Real Madrid and Juventus are two very good sides who deserve to be in the final. They both eliminated strong teams in the quarter finals and semi-finals – Juve knocked out Barcelona and Madrid knocked out a very tough side, Atlético so both of them deserve to contest the trophy”.
