Sevilla resigned to losing Jovetic at the end of the season
It is looking increasingly unlikely that Stevan Jovetic will continue at Sevilla - the Spanish club would need to pay 14 million euros to sign him.
Back in January, when Sevilla announced the capture of Stevan Jovetic on loan from Inter Milan for the remainder of the season, you could feel the sense of excitement and expectation among fans. Sevilla's explosive first half of the season could only be enhanced by the arrival of a big name star who would help guide Sampaoli's team in their bid to win a clean sweep of trophies.
The hopes were confirmed when Jovetic scored five minutes into his debut in the Copa del Rey tie against Real Madrid. That Sevilla side were dreaming of winning the league with a Jovetic who was on fire.

But for some unkown reason, Jovetic hasn't managed to carve out a regular place in the side. Sampaoli has preferred to use other forward, such as Ben Yedder. Whether it's for a question of physical requirements or technical needs, Sampaoli hasn't given Jovetic the kind of continuity he needs. Sevilla have the first option on Jovetic and can buy him outright for 14 million euros - a figure within their means and cheaper than Luciano Vietto who hasn't looked as convincing and would set the club back 20 million euros to buy him from Atlético. The big problem is Jovetic's wages. Sevilla haven't disclosed how much the player earns but if they decide to keep him, it would be with a pay cut - that seems improbable as there are a number of Premier League clubs who would be open to matching his salary demands...
