The clock continues to tick down to Cardiff on June 3 with Juventus aiming for their third European cup haul whilst Real Madrid hope to find room in their bulging trophy cabinet for a 12 European Cup haul, Here's a brief look at the latest news affecting the men from the Bernabeu.
Cristiano off to Russia
The Real Madrid striker was called up in the Portugal squad list for the 2017 Confederations which will take place in Russia from June 17 through to July 2 along with team-mate Pepe. Zidane has confirmed that the Portuguese striker along with the U-21 players will not form part of the first part of the 2017/18 pre-season activity which is scheduled to commence on July 10.
Coleman optimistic over Bale
Wales national team Chris Coleman is optimistic that Gareth Bale will be fit again as his side prepare for a key World Cup 2018 Group D match away to leaders Serbia. Wales lie four points behind the Balkan nation and the Republic of Ireland and a defeat in Serbia would as good as extinguish hopes of an automatic place in Russia. Bale, suspended for the Belgrade game is recovering from a calf injury and is optimistic of playing in the Champions League final.
Valderrama encourages James departure
The legendary Colombian midfielder urged his compatriot to leave Real Madrid. "When he plays he performs well, the problem is that he rarely gets to play" claimed the still big haired former Valladolid player.
