Free transfer XI: players whose contracts end in June 2017
From Casillas to Ibrahimovic, there are some talented - and experienced - footballers just waiting to be snapped up for nothing in this summer's transfer window.
As the European seasons come to an end, all eyes turn to the summer transfer market as managers, and fans, look at potential players that can help their side win some silverware, get promotion, consolidate their position, or avoid relegation.
Big money vs free transfers
With massive sponsorship and TV revenues flowing in, the richest clubs are expected to get their cheque books out and ask how many zeros will be required more than ever before. For others, there may have to be more financial restraint and for that reason a glance at the list of players at the very end of their contracts may be worthwhile.
Iker, Zlatan...or Super Mario
Some of the players who become free agents this summer can certainly add a huge amount of experience and winning know-how to any club. The likes of Iker Casillas, John Terry and Zlatan Ibrahimovic may have aging legs but are also proud owners of t-shirts that say "Been there, done that!" Others like Mario Balotelli and Jesús Navas still have relatively youthful sparks, if somewhat splitting opinion on consistency and temperament.
AS English will be keeping a close eye on all transfer movement throughout the summer. Let's see where these eleven are come the start of next season.
