COPE: "Griezmann tells Atletico he wants to leave"
The French striker has been flirting with an exit recently and reports now suggest that he has formalised his desire to leave Atletico Madrid.
The Antoine Griezmann saga could be drawing to a close sooner than many anticipated as he has reportedly informed the club of his intention to move. "Antoine Griezmann has informed the hierarchy of the club [Atletico] that he wants to leave", is how COPE journalist, Antonio Ruiz put it.

The striker, who is in the French squad for games against Sweden and Paraguay, has dropped hints in recent weeks regarding his departure with Manchester United seen as the most likely destination for the 26-year-old. He recently joked that he would only leave to play with NBA star Derrick Rose but also said later that he would have no problem moving teams if necessary.
The first clue he left was when he appeared on Quotidien, a French TV show, and said there was a 6 out of 10 chance that he would join Manchester United. The former Real Sociedad striker moved to silence speculation when he tweeted that the rumours of his departure were unfounded and that his direction would be clarified after he spoke to his sports advisors.
