Leganés suggested name change for sponorship boost
The proposal arose after sponsors suggested that changing the club’s name would make Leganés more marketable on a global scale, by establishing a closer link to the city of Madrid.
‘Lega’ released an official statement on Saturday, in which the club confirmed that they would remain as Club Deportivo Leganés. The decision will come as a relief to the Leganés fanbase, as they look ahead to a second season in the top flight of Spanish football.
