Casillas and Porto hint at keeper staying on for another year
The Portuguese club have featured the former Real Madrid goalkeeper in their promotional campaign for the 2017-18 season.
Iker Casillas could continue at FC Porto for the 2017-18 season after the Portuguese club featured the former Real Madrid keeper in their promotional material released on Wednesday ahead of the coming campaign.
In the advert Casillas appears with three of his teammates above the slogan: "There are no victories out of reach, we play without borders."
Casillas contract
Casillas signed for Porto from the Bernabéu in the summer of 2015 and agreed a two-year deal with the option of a third if he made more than 30 appearances in 2016-17 (he played 43 times in all competitions). He has been linked in recent weeks with several clubs including Liverpool, PSG, Sevilla and Napoli and seemed to indicate in a series of enigmatic messages that his time at the Estadio do Dragão was up.
However, Casillas is not out of contract until June 30 and the latest issue from the club’s marketing department suggests an agreement may yet be reached for the World Cup-winner to remain at Porto.
