Karanka: "I'm sure many Madrid fans still miss Mourinho"
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho had a tumultous spell at Real Madrid but Aitor Karanka says he believes many madridistas still miss the Portuguese.
Aitor Karanka spent three years as an assistant to Jose Mourinho at Real Madrid. In November of 2013, he arrived into the dugout at Middlesbrough and brought them into the Premier League before leaving the club in the middle of last season. On El Larguero de la SER, he assessed his dismissal and spoke about Jose Mourinho's stint at Real Madrid.
Middlesbrough: "It was a brutal experience for everyone, the idea is to stay in England but they are losing patience with managers in English football."
His future as a manager: "I am not thinking about the day I return to management, it could be a year, it could be sooner or it could be later. I'm not in any hurry. They have felt me out about returning, but no, at the moment I will remain where I am."
Relationship with Mourinho: "Mourinho was planning to have me with him at Chelsea, but I said I wanted to make that jump out on my own. It was only when I saw his face at Old Trafford that I knew how difficult it was to try and beat a friend. Let's hope that I can deal with facing Mourinho twice a year."
On Real Madrid: "My familly experienced some bad moments at Real Madrid with Mourinho. There was a lack of respect. I just wanted to do the best I could for Real Madrid and for Mourinho. I am sure that many Madridistas miss Mourinho".
Morata: "He can fit in anywhere, he has everything and for English football he is a specactacular player".
