PSG only offer Pepe a one-year deal with an option for second
The Portuguese defneder is set to leave Real Madrid in search of a two-year deal but PSG are unwilling to offer "a contract that large".
Paris Saint-Germain have offered Pepe a fixed one-year deal and an option for a second year, which may not please the Portuguese defender as he leaves Real Madrid in search of a two year contract.
Competing with Thiago Silva and Marquinhos
The French newspaper report that Pepe would be in competition with Thiago Silva and Marquinhos and young French defender, Presnel Kimpembe. The central defender is looking for a new club after spending a decade at Real Madrid during which he won three Champions Leagues. The one-year extension the club offered was not sufficient for Pepe, who believes he has more left in the tank and should be treated accordingly.
Pepe played at Porto before his jump to Real Madrid where he worked with Antero Henrique, who was the sporting director of the club at the time. At the moment, Pepe is concentrating on the Confederations Cup and will look to sort out his future once that is finished.
