Cristiano Ronaldo: 32 in 32 for Real Madrid and Portugal in 2017
Ronaldo's goal against Russia on Wednesday made him the first Real Madrid man to score at the Confederations Cup since Michael Laudrup.
Cristiano Ronaldo looks to be heading straight towards his fifth career Ballon d'Or. The forward has been on fire in 2017, playing a leading role as Real Madrid sealed a LaLiga and Champions League double and bagging 32 goals in 32 matches for club and country: 26 in 27 for Real, and six in five for Portugal.
Goal against Russia continues goal-per-game 2017
Cristiano's winning goal for Portugal in Wednesday's 1-0 Confederations Cup triumph over Russia not only saw him maintain his strike rate of a goal a game this calendar year, but also means the 32-year-old has found the net at every international finals tournament he's played in: the 2006, 2010 and 2014 World Cups (three goals), 2004, 2008, 2012 and 2016 European Championships (nine), 2004 Summer Olympic Games (one) and 2017 Confed Cup (one).
First Real Madrid man to score at Confed Cup since Laudrup
He also became the first Real player to score at the Confederations Cup since Michael Laudrup in 1995 (when the competition was known as the King Fahd Cup).
