Villarreal sniff at West Ham's 25M€ offer for Cedric Bakambu
According to 'The Telegraph', the Hammers had a formal offer for the Congolese forward turned down. The English side is also keen on Cologne's Anthony Modeste.
Villarreal are believed to have turned their noses up at a 25 million euro offer from West Ham United for striker Cédric Bakambu. Claims of the Hammers' bid come from The Telegraph, who report that Villarreal rejected the proposal out of hand. The paper also reports that West Ham have put in an identical 25 million euro offer for Cologne forward Anthony Modeste and were met with the same reply.
Villarreal not willing to cash in on Bakambu
Villarreal paid Turkish side Bursaspor eight million euros for Bakambu's transfer rights two seasons ago - and the Congolese striker ended his first season as the team's top scorer. Last season, hos progression was curtailed due a niggling injury and his international commitments with Congo but he came back into his own during the second half of the campaign and was the team's maximum scorer during the tail end of the season.
