REAL MADRID

Theo sweats it out as a Madridista for the first time

The left-back looked content and not out of place as a Real Madrid player during his first light session with former teammates and opponents from the past.

For the first time in his albeit Real Madrid career, the rookie Theo Hernandez, worked up a sweat with the veterans during his first sessions with Antonio Pintus, the physical trainer credited with leading a fit and healthy Real Madrid into battle for most of last year.

The Italian did show mercy at the first Real Madrid training session at UCLA's facilities in Los Angeles. Some stretching, push-ups, abs and plyometric excercises was the extent of the damage as Pintus looked to kickstart the engines and minimise the effects of jetlag. That said, the heat of the 30 degree Californian air did start to weigh and they have double sessions to look forward to starting Thursday.

Theo fits right into Real Madrid squad

It did not seem to phase Hernandez, however, as he jumped on a golf cart with Enzo Zidane with a smile on his face to start the session. He awaited the arrival of Marcos Llorente, his former teammate from Alaves last year and with Achraf and Luca, who he played against in Juvenil A, he looks to be right at home.

For the moment, Theo will have to suffice with training as a Madrid player before his first minutes with the team against Manchester United on the 23rd in Santa Clara at the premiere of the 2017 International Champions Cup.
