Borussia Dortmund give Aubameyang ultimatum
The Bundesliga club CEO has told any clubs interested in signing their star player that they have a couple of days to offer the 70 million euros required.
Hans-Joachim Watzke, Director General of Borussia Dortmund, has given an ultimatum to all clubs interested in signing their star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. But the onus to make this happen was put onto the player himself.
Chelsea and Milan have striker window closing
The Bundesliga club is keen to get the speculation out of the way or, if they are to lose the top scorer in last year's league campaign, get the necessary funds in place to sign a replacement well in advance of the new season. Both Chelsea and Milan have been strongly linked with the striker recently after previous speculation - and comments from the player - suggested a move to Real Madrid was more likely.
Speaking with German media 'Welt am Sonntag' Watzke said:
"We have not had any offers. We will wait a few more days but not much longer.
Aubameyang told to accelerate exit
"We have told Aubameyang: 'if you want to move and have a club ready to meet our conditions, come to us and we can will talk about it'," Watzke continued. "But we also explained that this is only possible within a certain time frame. We must find a replacement, which is difficult, if not impossible.
"Personally, I would prefer that he stays with us, but there are a few clubs on this planet where he can obviously earn more."
