Real Madrid round-up: Morata, Herrera, Pintus...
Real Madrid - Al Ain live online: Club World Cup final 2018
Real Madrid are in Los Angeles (USA) ahead of their forthcoming pre-season friendly games against Manchester United, Manchester City, FC Barcelona and an MLS All Star XI.
Morata close to Milan move
Álvaro Morata is on the verge of signing for AC Milan, according to La Gazzetta Dello Sport, the legendary pink-paged Italian newspaper. Madrid would be willing to listen to offers of €70m, while the move would suit Morata's desire for first-team action. The Rossoneri, boosted financially by new Chinese ownership, are also linked with Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Herrera disappointed
It appears that Romelu Lukaku's move to Manchester United has scuppered Morata's chances of reuniting with Jose Mourinho. Ander Herrera is disappointed that his compatriot will not join him at Old Trafford: "I came to see Morata as a team-mate, it was very close. It's a shame that he isn't with us."
Salgado hopes he stays
Míchel Salgado has also offered his thoughts on Álvaro Morata's future. The former Madrid and Blackburn full-back hopes he stays put: "I hope that he stays at Madrid. He's a player that I love. There aren't players of his profile on the market. He's young, homegrown..."
Carvajal celebrates Madrid landmark
Dani Carvajal has been at Los Blancos for 15 years, having arrived in 2002 as a young whipper-snapper. Apart from the 2012/13 season, which the full-back spent on loan at Bayer Leverkusen, he has always represented Real Madrid.
Pintus puts squad through their paces
As Madrid's fitness coach, the task of physically preparing the team for the new season falls upon Antonio Pintus. He has been tough on the squad, but believes they can handle it: "They are days with a lot of work, but they [the players] are used to it."
