Jesús Vallejo made his Real Madrid debut in Thursday's International Champions Cup meeting with Manchester City. The defender, who is back with Los Blancos after spending last season loaned out at Eintracht Frankfurt, reviewed his first outing with Zidane's team to the club's TV channel.

Real Madrid Debut: "Like I said during my presentation, wearing the Real Madrid shirt brings a mixture of pride and responsibility. I'm very happy to have made my debut and it's just a shame about the result. We have to continue training hard to prepare ourselves for the next game".

Words of encouragement from Zidane for Madrid's younger players

Pre-season: "Zidane told me and the rest of the Under-21 players and youth players that we should just try to be relaxed, focus on playing our game and above all to just enjoy the experience and enjoy our football. We are having a good time, training is very demanding - just as it should be; that will help us enter into the dynamic for the new season. I'm thrilled to be here, now we will be flying out to Miami for new challenges".

Madrid gear up for Barcelona test in Miami

Barça: "The Clásico always has a different feel about it and after a week of training, we'll be really keen to help our team mates and give our all although it'll be up to the coach who plays".

Setting objectives for the new season: "We are really looking forward to this season and all of the responsibility that will on our shoulders. Obviously, it's not going to be easy after the great season Madrid had last year but we are Real Madrid, we have to rise to these challenges, we are ready and we're dying for the new campaign to get underway".
