Tebas: "LaLiga will report PSG even if they don't pay Neymar's release clause"
LaLiga President Javier Tebas reiterated his intention to report PSG to UEFA over their attempts to sign Neymar, which he deems to be in breach of FFP.
Javier Tebas reiterated on Spanish radio programme El Larguero that LaLiga will report PSG over the possible transfer of Neymar from Barcelona.
LaLiga believe Qatari investment breaches FFP
“Even if they don’t pay the clause, we will report them. The president of PSG has already been warned, and we see that the politics of the club continue along the same line,” Tebas said.
“PSG cannot generate money from commercial rights that exceed what Madrid and Barcelona generate. Nobody believes that. We have done some economic studies and it is impossible. It means that the Qatari state is injecting money that violates the rules of UEFA’s Financial Fair Play, and the European Union’s economic competition rules. That is what we’re going to report,” he added.
Barcelona complaint will be seperate
Finally, Tebas made it clear that LaLiga's protest to UEFA will be independent of any action that Barcelona choose to take. The Catalan club are also thought to be preparing a complaint to the governing body of European football.
“It isn’t about the fact that Barcelona are considering it [a complaint], where they do that or not is their problem. LaLiga is going to make a complaint, it is LaLiga’s problem. Today it is Barcelona, but tomorrow it could be any other club.”
