80% of Atleti season ticket holders opt for Champions League package
Fans of Simeone's side saw ten matches in the Copa del Rey and Champions League in the final season at the Cálderon.
Atlético Madrid are gearing up for an historic season, as they move across the Spanish capital to the Wanda Metropolitano. Rojiblancos supporters will go with them, in the Champions League as well as LaLiga.
80% of Atleti ST holders opt for Champions League package
Almost 55,000 people have bought season tickets for the 2017/18 campaign, and 80% of those have opted for the ‘Total Season Ticket’, which entitles holders to entry to cup matches. It is a similar figure to that at the Calderón last season, which the club consider to be a positive indicator. The Wanda Metropolitano will be full for LaLiga matches, and not far off in the Champions League.
Of the 20% that have chosen the package that only includes league matches, many live outside Madrid, or are children, which makes attending midweek fixtures difficult.
'Total Season Ticket' a hit at the Cálderon
The ‘Total Season Ticket’ was a popular introduction last season, particularly as Diego Simeone’s side reached the semi-final stage of both the Copa del Rey and the Champions League.
In the Copa del Rey, fans were able to watch matches against Guijuelo, Las Palmas, Éibar, and Barcelona. While in the Champions League, Bayern, Rostov, PSV, Leverkusen, Leicester, and Real Madrid came to town.
