Barcelona: team news

Gerard Deulofeu makes his second debut for the Azulgrana, after the club exercised a buy-back clause in his Everton contract.

Rafael is a long-term absentee, but otherwise Ernesto Valverde had a full squad at his disposal for his first competitive match as Barcelona manager.

Barcelona XI: Ter Stegen; Aleix Vidal, Piqué, Umtití, Alba; Busquets, Rakitic, Iniesta; Messi, Suárez, Deulofeu.

Real Madrid: team news

Zidane has opted to start with Isco, and Ronaldo is the 'BBC' member who does not start as a result. Although many expected Bale to drop to the bench, this move does not come as a great surprise, given Ronaldo's lack of playing time in pre-season.

Luka Modric is suspended as a result of a red card he picked up in the 2014 Super Cup final. Fellow Croatian Mateo Kovacic will replace him in the midfield.

Real Madrid XI: Navas; Carvajal, Ramos, Varane, Marcelo; Casemiro, Kovacic, Kroos, Isco; Benzema, Bale.
