Real Madrid's 44 passes leads to Casemiro goal against Depor
The reigning champions of LaLiga came away from the Riazor with a comfortable win and without being at their best showed great quality for the second of their three goals.
Real Madrid travelled to A Coruña for their opening fixture of the 2017/18 Liga campaign and came away with the important three points despite not shining to the extent expected. Goals from Gareth Bale, Casemiro and Toni Kroos ensured a comfortable start to the defence of their title and it was the second from the Brazilian that oozed patience and class.
Marcelo delivers on a plate for Casemiro
It was the 27th minute of the match in the Estadio Riazor when Casemiro timed his run in at the back post to finish off a low cross from Marcelo on the left that split goalkeeper Rubén and his defenders perfectly. But the move that led up to that point involved 44 passes and lasted two and a half minutes.
Real Madrid XI involved in second goal
Those 44 passes from Los Blancos players is the most by any team in LaLiga to end in a goal in a decade. Every single player in white played a part in the move which started with goalkeeper Keylor Navas before going through Casemiro, Nacho, Sergio Ramos, Kroos, Modric and Marcelo - all in Madrid's own half. After crossing into Deportivo's territory Bale, Benzema, Casemiro and Carvajal were all involved ahead of the pass out to Marcelo and then cross into the Brazilian midfielder to slot home. Is there a new home for tiki-taka?
