Another magical night for Keylor Navas
The Real Madrid goalkeeper was decisive in Costa Rica's victory over the USA. Incredible saves and secure confidence between in the posts in another memorable game.
Nobody could be accused of madness for claiming that Keylor Navas is probably enjoying the finest moment of his career. His performance against the USA once again showed that he is among the best goalkeepers in the world.
He gave a masterclass of stunning saves, the most spectacular one to deny Pulisic in the 66th minute, stopping a shot which had taken a vicious touch off a defender en route. And as if that wasn't enough, in the 80th minute and with Costa Rica winning just 1-0, he got the better of Altidore in a one on one, to give Ureña, two minutes later, the chance to kill off the match.
Costa Rica beat USA
It's been 32 years since Costa Rica, 'Los Ticos' last beat the United States as visitors in a World Cup qualifier, and Navas was their main man. What's more, the victory means that Costa Rica are just a step away from qualifying.
Keylor Navas once again decisive
This was another magical night for Keylor. Many remember their match against Greece in the World Cup in 2014, when he ensured his side made the quarter-finals with his performance in the penalty shoot-out. And not so far back, he was decisive too in their last qualifying game against Trinidad and Tobago. Meanwhile for his club, he was vital in Real Madrid's Liga and Champions League double last season.
Keylor must be considered one of the most in form keepers on the planet right now - a key player for Real Madrid and leader for Costa Rica. After receiving a sustained barrage of criticism from some sectors of the Real Madrid support, along with rumours that he was to be replaced with either De Gea or Courtois, his constant hard work has paid off, in the form of saves and confidence between the posts.
