“We all want Cristiano back with us and we need his goal scoring ability...". This was the claim from recent arrival at the club Theo, who already in his short time at the Bernabeu is well aware of the striking option that Cristiano lends to Real Madrid.

The player from Madeira bagged 42 goals last season with 25 strikes coming in the domestic campaign and 12 in the Champions League. The No. 7's recent goal scoring exploits are the club are hugely impressive with 51 goals notched during the 15-16 season, 61 in 2014/15 and 51 the previous campaign.

Midfield riches

This season Real Madrid have an abundance of talented midfield player but observers have stated that selling both Alvaro Morata to Chelsea and Mariano to Lyon have left Zidane with limited attacking options. Real Madrid have scored 13 goals in their six official games this season with nine different players getting their name on the score sheet (plus a Pique own-goal) with the members of the BBC (Bale, Benzema and Cristiano) notching a goal apiece. Ironically the top scorer this season so far is Marco Asensio (4).

Lucas Vazquez support

Theo wasn't alone in longing for a CR7 return with winger Lucas Vázquez speaking after the Levante game and criticizing the harshness of Ronaldo's five match ban stating: "We missed Cristiano who is serving a somewhat excessive five match ban". French coach Zinedine Zidane also alluded to Cristiano's absence in his post match press conference observing: “He's a hugely important player for us and when he's not available we're forced to look for alternatives".
