Mayoral joins Cristiano Ronaldo in Real Madrid squad for Betis

Zinedine Zidane has announced his 19-man squad for the Liga match against Real Betis in the Bernabéu on Wednesday with Cristiano Ronaldo set to make his 2017-18 Liga debut after missing the opening four games of the domestic season while serving a five-match ban for shoving the referee during Real’s 3-1 victory over Barcelona in the first leg of the Spanish Super Cup.
Theo Hernández and Jesús Vallejo both miss out with injuries while longer term absentees Mateo Kovacic and Karim Benzema remain on the sidelines. Achraf Hakimi, the Castilla right back promoted to the senior squad last summer, misses out by technical decision.
Borja Mayoral retains his place in the squad after an encouraging performance against Real Sociedad while Toni Kroos returns after recovering from a knock and Marcelo returns after serving a one-match ban.
