Neymar out of PSG's Montpellier game

The Brazilian has a slight injury in his foot and will not travel to Montpellier as Unai Emery does not want to risk him with Champions League football in midweek.

Neymar will not play this weekend against Montpellier as PSG travel to the port town in the south for their seventh game of the season. The Brazilian suffered a small injury to his foot and Unai Emery would prefer not to risk his summer signing with a game against Bayern Munich in the Champions League coming during the week.

The absence of PSG's star man will avoid any ill feeling that may still be lingering after Neymar and Cavani fought over who would take a penalty in their 2-0 win over Lyon last weekend. Neymar has reportedly apologised and there was also a meal planned to reconcile the squad but it was sure to be a talking point, and possibly a distraction, heading into the game against Ligue 1's 12th-placed side.

If there is a penalty awarded to PSG at the weekend, Cavani will most definitely take it and while Emery is not short of options, he is without Angel Di Maria. He can still use a front three of Mbappé, Draxler and Cavani, however.
