Messi poised to break Raúl's record
La Pulga has scored against 35 different teams in LaLiga, equalling the former Madrid striker's tally, and a goal against Girona on Saturday evening could see him add yet another record to his already glittering collection.
Should Leo Messi find the back of the net against Girona on Saturday, he will be the proud owner of yet another record to add to his already glittering collection: scoring against 36 different teams in LaLiga. La Pulga equalled the record held by Madrid's former marksman Raúl - who found the net against 35 sides - when he scored against Las Palmas in January.
Moreover, the Argentinian striker has started the season in imperious form, hitting a brace against Alavés, a hat-trick in the Catalan derby versus Espanyol and four in a 6-1 thrashing of Eibar to make him the current pichichi (top goalscorer) in Spain's top flight with nine goals.
