Zidane: "Ceballos will get another chance, I like Ronaldo up top"
Zinedine spoke to the press after Real Madrid's win against Alavés, discussing Cristiano Ronaldo, Dani Carvajal, and match-winner Dani Ceballos.
Zinedine Zidane spoke to the press following Real Madrid’s hard-fought victory over Alavés. Dani Ceballos scored either side of a Manu García equaliser to maintain pressure on table-toppers Barcelona.
Ceballos will get more chances
A difficult match: “We know that every ground is difficult. Alavés also needed points, they’re last and they had a good game. I’m satisfied because we achieved what we wanted, three points and that’s it.”
Dani Ceballos: “I’m happy for the player because it shows he’s ready to play. He did really well. I’m happy for him, but as well as the goals he has had a good match, he played really well. I’m happy for him because at the end of the day he’s had his opportunity, he wants to learn, and he’ll get another chance.”
Bernabéu barren spell: “I don’t think that we play better [away] than at the Bernabéu. We like to play in our stadium. This is football. We have to relax and think about Tuesday. Later, against Espanyol, we will try to change the dynamic.”
Cristiano Ronaldo is calm in wait for LaLiga goal
Dani Carvajal continues to play: “We’ve got a lot of injuries and we can’t make many changes. We are making them, but we can’t change six or seven players. He has to keep going. He’s well.”
Theo Hernández: “We won’t get Theo back for Tuesday.”
Cristiano Ronaldo: “He’s the same as ever. You [journalists] are there when he doesn’t score, but he’s relaxed. He had chances and you have to stay calm. This is a very long, and he will make the difference.”
Ronaldo as a striker: “I like his position up top. He can play in many positions on the pitch. We can use various systems.”
