Catalan referendum could see Barça-Las Palmas postponed

Barcelona's LaLiga clash with Las Palmas on Sunday could be at risk of postponement due to the Catalan independence referendum scheduled for the same day, despite Blaugrana vice-president Jordi Cardoner on Wednesday claiming the match will go ahead without any difficulties.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the controversial vote - which Catalonia's regional government has insisted will go ahead in the face of the Spanish government's efforts to stop it - could lead the week 7 match at the Camp Nou to be rearranged due to a lack of available law-enforcement personnel for the fixture.

Postponement of LaLiga clash to be discussed today

Ahead of the planned 1 October referendum, Catalan regional premier Carles Puigdemont has called a meeting of the Generalitat's security board at 12:00 CEST today, where the possible police deployment for Barça-Eibar, and whether the game can be played, will be discussed.
