Griezmann to be the protagonist of a series of children's books

The Atlético Madrid forward announced on social media that the 'Goal' series will be based on his career, with the aim of 'transmitting values to young people'.

Not content with scoring goals for Atlético Madrid, Antoine Griezmann is going to step in to the literary world. The French striker announced on Facebook the creation of a series of children's books titled 'Goal', which will be based on his career.

Griezmann announces 'Goal' children's books

"Hello everyone, I have some news for you all," the 26-year-old wrote, "To become a professional footballer, I had to get past a lot of obstacles, and I never lowered my arms. Today I'm a dad to a little girl, Mia, and I have to transmit my human and sporting values to young people."

He continued, "When I was young, I would have loved to read a series inspired by the story of Beckham or Zidane. For that reason, I share with you my children's series 'Goal'. I hope you like it."

Six books will be published by February 2019

The editor, Michel Lafon, explained to AFP that the series will consist of six volumes of 160 pages, which will be published between now and February 2019. The first of those will go on sale on October 12 and will cost €10.95.

The protagonist of the series will be a boy called Tony Grizi, and the books will be aimed at children between the ages of 8 and 12.
