Sergio Ramos played at his physical limit against Getafe at the Coliseum on Saturday afternoon. The Real Madrid captain, according to José Luis Sánchez on Spanish programme La Sexta, earlier and later confirmed by manager Zinedine Zidane in his post-match press conference, was suffering from a case of vomiting on Saturday morning.

Ramos was doubt for Getafe

Initial signs were that it was going to be too dangerous for the central defender to push his body to the limits in a top level match and the medical team at Madrid gave him rehydration fluid to help the player recover strength. This, in the end, was enough to get him back to a place where he could play.

Zidane and Ramos decided

In the post-match press conference, following the 1-2 victory for Los Blancos, Zidane clarified that Ramos had not had any signs of fever or dizziness immediately before the game. He had simply started to feel bad but the coach had seen him warm up without any problems and along with the player himself decided that he was ready to play.
