Gary Lineker calls Benzema 'overrated' as Spurs hold Real Madrid
The former-Barcelona and England striker reasoned that one goal every other game for Madrid is nothing special.
Gary Lineker has cast his view on Karim Benzema, dismissing the French striker as 'overrated' as Tottenham Hotspur held Real Madrid to a draw in the Champions League.
Gary Lineker pulls no punches on Benzema
Benzema did not have any joy in front of goal at the Bernabéu. He missed a clear opportunity after Cristiano Ronaldo hit the post, and was denied at point-blank range by Hugo Lloris.
"Is it me or is Benzema a tad overrated," Lineker tweeted, "a goal every other game in a team as strong as Real Madrid is nada especial. Decent not great."
The 56-year-old scored 48 goals in 128 goals across a three-season spell at Camp Nou.
