Real Madrid are not only combing the international market for talent; the LaLiga giants are also keeping a close eye on the promising young prospects emerging in Spain. And - as Diario AS first revealed in September - there is one particular name marked in red on the domestic front: Ferrán Torres.

Valencia working to tie Torres down, but Real still in time to pounce

Torres' club, Valencia, want to secure the Spain Under-17s winger's future and have told the 17-year-old, who is already a fixture in their reserves, that he will be handed first-team terms and a senior squad number from 1 January 2018. At that point, Torres' release clause would rise from eight million to 25 million euros.

His buy-out could also increase to 25 million before the turn of the year were he to make his first-team debut for Los Che. But until he returns from Under-17 World Cup duty with Spain, an early bow is impossible. Real are therefore still in time to go after his signing before his asking price goes up...

Real Madrid and Barcelona chasing the wonderkid

Real Madrid are not the only LaLiga club keen on Torres, with Barcelona also very interested. However, having tracked the youngster for years and shown him around their Valdebebas training complex on two separate occasions, Los Blancos are currently ahead of their arch rivals. He has a lot of similarities to Real winger Marco Asensio, and the club are determined to again beat Barça to the signature of a Spanish starlet...

On top of Real and Barça, Torres has also sparked admiring glances from clubs in the Premier League and the Bundesliga - but, for the moment, the player's preference is to remain in Spain.
