GIRONA-REAL MADRID
Real Madrid opt not to use official bus for Girona away game
El Mundo report that the Bernabeu outfit have decided to take an unmarked bus to Montilivi given the current political tension reigning in Catalonia.
Real Madrid's head of security has taken the decision that the squad should not travel to Montilivi this weekend to face Girona in the official Real Madrid coach and will travel in a hired, unmarked bus to arrive at the ground for Sunday's game.
The decision has been taken given the political unrest in Catalonia over the past few weeks but the squad will fly as planned to the Catalan city late Saturday ahead of the 16:15 kick-off on October 29th.
Precautionary measure
The reasoning behind the decision is of a precautionary measure explain El Mundo with no apparent danger present with the club deciding to do away with traditional pre-match protocol for peace of mind.
This is not the first time the club has adopted this measure with a neutral marked bus being used for certain away games previously in Bilbao (Athletic), Pamplona (Osasuna) or against Barcelona.
