Real Madrid coach Zidane was asked about his striker Gareth Bale during today's press conference ahead of Madrid's LaLiga match on Sunday against Las Palmas at the Bernabéu. The striker has been called up for international duty by Wales coach Chris Coleman after being out injured for a lengthy spell, and Zidane was forthright in his reply: "You have to have patience with Gareth, he won't be in the squad and he won't be going away with them. He'll be staying here working with us".

Zidane continued: "After 35 days with his injury, he has had two training sessions and we want him to stay here to be ready as soon as possible."

Bale called up for Wales, but Zidane says no

Coleman announced his list of call-ups for Wales' friendlies against France and Panama on the 10 and 14 November, with Bale included, despite the fact he hasn't played for over a month for Real Madrid.

Bale was back training with the Real Madrid squad today, Saturday, at Valdebebas, but according to Zidane he's not ready to play yet and will not feature at all during Sunday's match against Las Palmas at the Bernabéu.

Bale not played since Dortmund match

Bale has not played for Real Madrid since picking up a calf injury in the Champions League victory over Borussia Dortmund on 26 September, in which he scored and provided an assist.
