All is not well at PSG with each new day throwing up a fresh controversy at the Parisian club despite the team performing well on the field of play. This unrest is also felt by first team coach Unai Emery with names constantly being put forward by numerous media outlets as to who his successor will be on the Parc des Princes bench despite the team comfortably top of the Ligue 1 table and through to the next phase of the 2017/18 Champions League competition.

Tension

The arrival of Neymar at the club has been one of the catalysts for internal tensions with the well documented spat with Cavani over penalty taking duties creating disquiet. Emery also tried to forbid the Brazilian from training advocating rest with the former Barça player retorting that Emery's video-sessions were a drag. The French media also report of an "abyss" between both player and coach.

Le Parisien reported how the battle for the Hondaribia born coach was the management of the ego-heavy PSG dressing room and that directors demand that the club reach at least the semi-final of the Champions League this season with failure to do so pointing to an uncertain future for the coach. Should the club decide not to renew Unai Emery's contract the three highly fancied substitutes are the following:

Antonio Conte

The ideal alternative, according to Le Parisien is Antonio Conte. The Italian coach seems destined for a Stamford Bridge exit come season end after failing to agree to a contract renewal with Chelsea. His current deal is worth  7,3 million euro and the 48-year-old is demanding 10,8, million. His current term with the SW6 based club expires in 2019, but everything suggests that the Italian is destined for a departure from the London based outfit next summer.

José Mourinho

Despite the current Manchester United boss enjoying his time at Old Trafford, José Mourinho is highly regarded by new sporting director at the Paris based club, Henrique Antero. Contact with the Setubal born coach has already been established and Mourinho recently stated that the Ligue 1 club had: "something special, magic, quality and youth...it's fantastic". Mou's agent Jorge Mendes also maintains a close relationship with Antero and Al-Khelaifi. Other circles claim that Mourinho's flirting with the Parisian club is merely a strategy to secure a better renewal deal at United.

The 2017/18 campaign is proving to be a complicated one for Simeone on the Atlético Madrid bench with PSG club officials watching on with interest. It was also rumoured that when the club were looking for a replacement for Laurent Blanc  Nasser Al-Khelaifi had the Argentine high on his priority list before ultimately opting for Emery. The evolution and outcome of this, the debut season at the Wanda Metropolitano will go some way in deciding the postilion of Simeone come season-end with the club holding out for a miracle to continue in the 17/18 Champions League.
