Zidane: "Kepa is a good keeper but he's not my keeper"
Zidane says he has not asked for anyone to be signed and admits that Kepa is a good keeper but that Keylor is the best before dismissing talk of winter signings.
Zinedine Zidane spoke to the press ahead of the game against Athletic Bilbao at the San Mamés on Saturday night. The Real Madrid manager touched on the subject of Keylor Navas and the possible signing of Kepa, who they come face-to-face with at the weekend.
What is the team missing?
We are missing three, four or five games in a row at a high level. We have three or four very interesting games now and I hope when we return in January, we can be like we were before. We have to be up to it.
Will Ramos play at San Mamés? Do you think about losing more points?
Yes, he will be there. He is very good. We don't think about leaving points behind, we always want more but in football sometimes, you never know. We can only give 100% all the time. We have games to show our worth and I'll never worry whatever happens. My group is very positive even when things aren't going well. We know that we can change things in a hurry.
Do you think Kepa is better than Keylor?
I always have the best. I have Keylor and he is better without doubt, I will always be with the ones who are here. Kepa is a very good keeper, without doubt, but he is not my keeper.
You said there would be no departures but we would see about arrivals. Would you pay €20 million for Kepa and could Icardi be brought in?
I am staying with Keylor and with Kiko. We will see when the market opens is anyone is going to come or not. I can not talk about players in the future. There are many that can come, and many players who can play here some day. But that's not my problem.
Have you asked the club for reinformcement or been offered them?
I haven't asked for anything.
