Arbeloa: "Cristiano is as good as Di Stéfano"
The former Real Madrid defender spoke about Ronaldo and how good he has been at Real Madrid putting him at the same level as Alfredo di Stéfano.
Alvero Arbeloa spoke to Luján Arguelles on EFE Radio recently where he assured those listening that Cristiano Ronaldo "is as good as" Alfredo di Stéfano.
"Cristiano Ronaldo has scored before and after at Real Madrid at all levels and that puts him in the same bracket as Di Stéfano," he said.
The former Real Madrid player, who played at the Bernabéu for seven seasons, said "during my seven years at the club, I was always myself and I defended my teammates, manager and the club. I think the fans could see that."
"You have to know when to say goodbye because it's not easy and even less so at Real Madrid. you have to know when to decide but it's better when people love you so you give them a chance to miss you," he said.
The defender then said, "Real Madrid have a loudspeaker and everything you say gets put on the news. In other teams, you can say what you want and you don't have any reprecussion."
Arbeloa then said he was considering his options since hanging up his boots and is currently living a very quiet time in his life. He has been contacted by some media outlets but is not convinced that this is the way forward in his career.
