The Pamplona-based side are demanding the award of a 3-0 win after the visitors declined to play the game within 24 hours, as regulations allow for.

Osasuna are to lodge a claim with the Spanish Football Federation’s appeals committee demanding that the game against Gimnástic be designated a home win after the visitors declined to reschedule after the match was called off due to the snow-covered turf of El Sadar on Friday evening.

Gimnástic refused to reschedule the match within 24 hours, as the regulations allow for in such circumstances, leading Osasuna to file a complaint of “failure to appear” against the Catalan club and will argue that the fixture should be awarded by default to the home side by a score of 3-0.

Osasuna said that they will lodge the appeal on Monday after match referee Luis Mario Milla Alvendiz took the decision to call off the game after heavy snowfall in Pamplona leading up to kick-off. However, Osasuna argue that Gimnástic “did not follow the regulations” by “making it impossible” for the game to be staged within 24 hours of the original kick-off time.

In the referee’s report, it was noted that: “Presented with the possibility of playing the fixture within the next 24 hours […] the Gimnástic de Tarragona SAD club delegate declined to stage the fixture within the specified time frame.”
